Phonics Phase 3 parents guide

Hello Parents and Carers,

This video is to help you support your child reading phase 3 phonic books at home. The ending is cut short slightly however, this does not matter as all of the information is there that you need. Please refer back to this video to remind you of the phase 3 sounds and the correct pronunciation. If you have any questions just let us know. Many thanks, Miss Carter

Phonics Phase 2

Hello Parents and Carers,

This video is to help you to read phase 2 phonics books that we will be sending home with your child next week. You can refer back to the sounds that we model at the beginning of the video as much as you like to familiarise yourself with the sounds that they will be learning. Please continue to read at least three times a week for around 15 minutes with your child and write it in the monkey book they have in their folder. This is very important. Please also continue to remind your child to bring their reading book to school everyday. There will be fabulous prizes for the children who are reading the most at home! Any questions please let us know.
Many thanks, Miss Carter

Phonics Vocabulary Boards

Hello Parents and Carers,

We will also send home a phonics vocabulary board each week. This has been made for children who are new to English. However, everyone is welcome to use them. They explain words that the children will be reading with a picture to help with understanding. Even if your child is not new to English they can practise their phonics.
Use the mantra we use with the children at home to help them understand how to read ; "look at the letters, make the sounds and blend the sounds together."

Thank you, Miss Carter and Miss de Lisle

Lilac Book Parent Guide 2023

Hello Parents and Carers,

This is a video to help you understand how to read lilac books, that have no words, with your child at home. We will be sending these home with your child next week. We understand that some children can already read however, this is to support your child to find pleasure in reading and help with their comprehension (understanding) . Your child will take these home for around two weeks and then they will start to take home a reading book with words. Please make sure that you read the book that your child brings home at least three times a week for around 15 minutes. Please also make sure that your child brings their reading book to school everyday.
