Year 3 Autumn term

Bradgate Park trip

As part of our Stone Age topic we visited Bradgate Park to explore its history, hunt for some bugs and even track down a woolly mammoth.  We also undertook some further investigations of rocks and soils to link in with our science topic.

In science we have worked as rock detectives, investigating different types of rocks and how they are formed. We carefully observed and investigated the properties of the rocks so that we were able to classify them into different groups. We loved being Rock detectives and investigating things!

What is the best type of soil for farming?

We even tried to hunt a Woolly Mammoth disguised as Mrs Bevans.
