At Stokes Wood the safeguarding, welfare, physical and emotional well-being of our children and their families are a priority. As such, any concerns which contradict this will be acted on immediately.

Year 3

Year 3 Camping

The Year 3 children spent a night under campus at the beginning of July at the Ullesthorpe Scout Camp.
It was a great experience for them all….. and the staff!
The weather was kind and the photos tell you some of the story of the fun and learning they had.

TAG Rugby

Year 3 were fortunate enough to be coached  by Leicester Tigers Rugby Club. They had several PE lessons and were then invited to take part in a Tag Rugby festival . As you can see, many children got a chance to play. 

Mandir visit

As part of the RE curriculum, the children and staff visited a Hindu Mandir ( temple). The children and staff admired the beautiful temple, statues, decor and took part in a range of activities. They were made very welcome and the children learned a lot through experiencing the visi

A visit from a Stone Age man

In early October, Stokes Wood 3 children had a visit from a Stone Age man . As you can see by the photos, he was happy to share his animal furs and the children tried them on. They also learned about the stone tools he brought with him. During the morning the children talked about how the Stone Age man evolved over many thousands of years from an ape like creature to an upright man or woman . Apart from being interesting and informative, it was great fun too.

Year 3 Health and Wellbeing event

30 children enjoyed an active day at Beaumont Leys Secondary School in September. They learned all about keeping themselves physical fit as well as emotionally well and had a great time whilst doing it.

Massed choir De Montfort Hall

The Year 3 choir sang beautifully at De Montfort Hall as part of the Leicestershire schools’ massed choir. They were the youngest pupils there and represented the Stokes Wood proudly. They then sang for parents at school and for the Abbey Care Home residents.
